Job Description

At Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida (AAASWFL), we believe that every older adult and individual with disability in our region deserves to live with dignity, independence, and connection. As Florida's designated Aging and Disability Resource Center for Planning Service Area 8, we are the backbone of a coordinated network of services spanning seven counties, and we take that responsibility seriously. If you are a mission-driven leader who finds purpose in building systems that change lives, we want to hear from you.

We are seeking a Director of Programs and Planning to join a leadership team that is deeply committed to both the people we serve and the staff who show up every day to serve them. This is not a role for someone looking to simply manage a portfolio of programs. It is a role for someone who understands that great program oversight, strong provider relationships, and rigorous compliance are the foundation on which trust and impact are built. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position provides leadership over the Agency's Programs, Planning, Health and Wellness, SHINE, Elder Abuse, and Veterans Directed Home and Community Based Services (VDHCBS) departments.

The right candidate will bring a confident command of federal and state grant requirements, quality assurance, and provider monitoring, along with the ability to lead the Agency's Area Plan process, and serve as the primary liaison to community service providers, Lead Agencies, and the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA). Strong analytical skills are essential, including oversight of eCIRTS data integrity, outcome and output measure reporting, and preparation of programmatic reports for DOEA and Agency leadership.

We are looking for a leader who earns trust through consistency, lifts their team through accountability and encouragement, and brings both strategic thinking and a steady hand to a complex, multi-program environment. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years of professional experience in program planning and/or contract management within a social services setting are required. A master's degree in Public Health, Gerontology, or a related field may substitute for one year of the required experience. Knowledge of aging services is strongly preferred.

This is a full-time, exempt, in-office position based in Southwest Florida. Some travel is required. Following a successful probationary period of six months, a hybrid schedule of two to three remote workdays per week may be available.

If you are ready to lead with purpose and grow alongside a team that is genuinely invested in doing this work well, we invite you to apply. Please submit your resume and cover letter through this posting.

AAAASWFL is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
