Payroll Specialist (Part-Time)
Location: Northern Kentucky
Pay: $28-$35/hour
Schedule: Part-time (approximately 12-20 hours/week)
Job Type: Contract / Temporary

Overview
Our client is seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review and validate timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, changes)
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Assist with payroll tax reporting and documentation
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and collaborate with HR and finance teams
  • Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Support payroll audits and maintain organized payroll documentation
  • Maintain payroll data in HRIS/payroll systems
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience with payroll systems (ADP or similar preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with multi-state payroll is a plus
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems
  • Ability to handle high-volume payroll in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
