**Responsibilities**
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and agile sourcing professional to join our procurement team as Manager Global Sourcing - Direct Materials. This role is ideal for someone with a consulting background in operations, supply chain, or procurement who thrives on solving complex problems, managing cross-functional projects, and delivering impact across multiple manufacturing sites and sourcing categories.
You will be responsible for leading high-priority sourcing initiatives, managing smaller direct material categories, and supporting overflow needs in collaboration with Category Managers and plant procurement teams. The role provides exceptional exposure to leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and strategic decision-making - and serves as a potential path to a broader category leadership position.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead **strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier transitions** that require rapid, cross-functional execution across plants and product lines.
+ Own and manage **smaller direct materials categories** with full sourcing accountability, including strategy development, supplier negotiations, and cost savings.
+ Support **overburdened category managers** by driving discrete sourcing workstreams (e.g., supplier performance initiates, cost-out projects, RFx events, second sourcing).
+ Analyze spend data, market intelligence, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
+ Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and plant procurementteams on **supplier development and capacity expansion initiatives** , including:
+ Supporting **supplier readiness** for new product launches or increased demand on existing products.
+ Working with suppliers to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
+ Build clear, data-driven business cases and present recommendations to procurement and operations leadership.
+ Contribute to procurement transformation efforts (e.g., supplier consolidation, digital sourcing tools, tail spend optimization, etc.).
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Requires a minimum 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or equivalent education and experience; Or 6+ years and a Master's degree; Or a PhD with 3+ years experience; or equivalent experience. Where required, the role must hold an appropriate degree in the industry (eg. Legal)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
+ 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations - including 2+ years in a consulting, project-based, or cross-functional role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, engage stakeholders, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
+ Strong analytical capabilities (Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools like Power BI/Tableau).
+ Proficient in sourcing systems and ERP tools (SAP, JDE, Ariba, Coupa, etc.).
+ Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills - able to bridge plant-level execution and corporate strategy.
+ Self-starter with comfort navigating ambiguity and changing priorities.
