Description We are looking for a skilled Disbursements Analyst to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will handle vessel documents and contracts, ensuring billing accuracy and investigating discrepancies to maintain smooth financial operations. This is a Contract to permanent position offering an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the import/export industry. Responsibilities: - Review and verify vessel documents and contracts to ensure billing accuracy. - Enter and upload invoicing details into the system with precision and timeliness. - Investigate and resolve discrepancies or missing data in financial records. - Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and maintain accurate accounts. - Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and support reporting needs. - Manage accounts receivable processes, including tracking and reconciliation. - Work with billing systems and tools such as QuickBooks Pro and SharePoint Portal Server. - Maintain organized and accurate records for audits and compliance purposes. - Ensure timely communication with stakeholders through Outlook and other tools. - Apply strategic decision-making to enhance the efficiency of disbursement processes. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis. - Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions. - Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks Pro and SharePoint Portal Server. - Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics is preferred. - Competence in data entry with a speed of 8000 kph or higher. - Knowledge of import/export documentation, including bills of lading. - Effective communication skills and proficiency in Word and Outlook.
