We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Laboratory Technician to support our environmental laboratory operations. This role focuses on processing customer water samples to detect microbial pathogens, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to standard protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analyses on water samples using standardized operating procedures.
• Accurately record observations and test data into the laboratory information system (LIMS).
• Prepare concise reports summarizing findings and observations.
• Assist with the preparation and handling of reagents and laboratory materials.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety according to established procedures.
• Monitor and document quality control and quality assurance activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required.

• Ability to sit and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and/or move containers weighing 10–50 pounds.
• Maintain focus and performance under pressure.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Distinguish colors visually and through a microscope.
• Acclimate to varying noise levels and laboratory odors.
• Work in a lab environment with exposure to hazardous chemicals and microbiological agents (appropriate PPE will be provided).
