Job Description
**What You Will Do** Occupational Health is seeking a reliable, highly motivated, detail oriented and energetic employee to help support multiple surveillance/certification programs at Occupational Health. The selected candidate will apply integrated health case management principles and health care coordination to employees enrolled in different surveillance programs at Los Alamos National Laboratory and manage those surveillance/certification programs per federal standards and regulations. Working with multiple other case managers, this individual will help ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and Department of Energy guidelines pertaining to the Hazardous Materials Program, Wildland Firefighter program, NanoWorker Program, Deployable Worker Program and other programs as necessary. The selected candidate will also be expected to support Occupational Health with customer support duties to include answering patient questions, front desk staffing, directing phone calls, and managing health information as needed. The selected candidate will also be part of the medical records team and will be required to ensure medical records duties are completed to include managing Release of Information documents, Chart Storage and management, and managing Electronic health records. **What You Need** **Minimum Job Requirements:** + Experience providing excellent customer service. + Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at one time. + Strong communication skills, both orally and writing. + Proficiency in computer software, office software to include proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). + Ability to work with sensitive information. + Ability to effectively work in a team environment and interact with all levels of internal and external personnel. + Entry level knowledge of, and experience with, integrated health management principles, patient advocacy, and occupational health issues including protection of patient health information. + Entry level knowledge of case management functions and processes and knowledge of medical terminology. + Experience and skill demonstrating research, investigating alternative solutions and recommending solutions on problems affecting administrative activities related to medical records and reporting. + Working knowledge of health information management policies governing the appropriate handling of medical information, including policies governing confidentiality, release of information and HIPAA. + Ability to actively listen to customer concerns, remains composed in stressful situations, sets respectful boundaries when necessary and de-escalate heated situations. **Education/Experience:** Position requires a minimum of 2 years experience in Occupational Health or Hospital Case management. Some undergraduate course work may be expected. **Desired Qualifications:** + Current Certification and skill in basic life support (BLS) + Entry level knowledge of managing surveillance/certification programs to include report building, metrics and reporting + Entry level knowledge of surveillance/certification programs to include but not limited to Wildland Firefighter, Hazardous Materials, Deployable Teams, Respirator, Beryllium, etc. + Advanced level knowledge working with an Electronic Health Record + Current HIPAA certification + Proficient in computer use, office software, and web interfaces + Entry level knowledge of, and experience with, effective communication techniques + Strong customer focus with ability to interact with a large cross section of colleagues, customers, and stakeholders **Work Location:** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.
