**Job Title: Finishing Carpenter**
**Job Description**
The Finishing Carpenter installs, finishes, and repairs drywall and wooden structures on residential and commercial construction projects. This role focuses on high-quality finish carpentry, including hanging, taping, and finishing drywall, painting, installing trim and decorative elements, and setting cabinetry and wall panels to deliver a polished final product.
**Responsibilities**
+ Hang, tape, and finish residential and commercial drywall to a smooth, paint-ready surface.
+ Perform drywall painting and touch-ups to achieve a clean, uniform finish.
+ Construct, install, maintain, and repair wooden structures such as walls, roofs, and floors.
+ Install interior and exterior trim work, including baseboards, crown molding, window and door frames, and other decorative pieces.
+ Install cabinetry and wall panels according to specifications and project plans.
+ Use hand tools and finish carpentry tools safely and effectively on a daily basis.
+ Work on both residential and commercial construction sites, following project schedules and quality standards.
+ Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete tasks efficiently and on time.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all site safety guidelines.
+ Travel to various project sites within approximately one hour of Toledo as required.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 2 years of drywall experience, including hanging, taping, and finishing.
+ Proven experience in finish carpentry on residential or commercial construction projects.
+ General painting experience with the ability to prepare surfaces and apply paint evenly.
+ Strong skills in using hand tools and finish carpentry tools safely and accurately.
+ Experience in commercial construction environments.
+ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with the ability to commute to projects within approximately one hour of Toledo.
+ Ability to read and follow directions, work independently, and meet project deadlines.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience installing interior and exterior trim, including baseboards, crown molding, and window and door frames.
+ Experience in constructing, maintaining, and repairing wooden structures such as walls, roofs, and floors.
+ Experience installing cabinetry and wall panels.
+ General knowledge of painting techniques and surface preparation.
+ Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes.
+ Ability to adapt to different job sites and project requirements.

**Work Environment**
You work on commercial construction projects located within roughly one hour of Toledo, with the potential to support residential jobs as needed. The schedule follows first-shift hours, with exact start and end times depending on the specific job and site requirements. Work takes place on active construction sites, using standard construction and carpentry tools and equipment in a hands-on, field-based setting.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toledo, OH.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
