Up-to-date information is essential in planning and administration of federal and state programs. Supervisory skills include the ability to hire, train, motivate, coordinate and supervise a team. A supervisor's main role is to supervise their team but will interviewing farmers in person or over the phone and conducting crop counts in the field as needed. A supervisor must be available to work on all surveys. A supervisor also assists their team with existing technology/systems and promotes any new technology used for data collection.
Intermittent, part-time supervisory position available with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (a Fair Opportunity Employer). Applicants must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Agriculture and computer background are helpful. People skills and attention to detail are a must. Starting wage is $20.19/hour including training time, plus 67 cents/mile for travel. Applicants must consent to a background and motor vehicle record check. Position open until filled.
