**Travel Shipyard Rigger Position**
**Job Description**
+ We are seeking a skilled shipyard rigger with 2-5 years of experience in heavy rigging.
+ Candidate will work onboard ships, performing tasks that involve heavy lifting, climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
**Responsibilities**
+ Properly use and care for chain hoists ranging from 1 ton to 40 tons to rig steel piping and machinery in environments where cranes are not available.
+ Utilize wire rope lashing effectively to rig in the absence of lifting pads.
+ Calculate weights and centers of gravity, and apply rigging gear such as chain hoists, shackles, and wire ropes to safely rig and move loads.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of rigging knots, splicing rope, and wire rope reeving and seizing.
+ Handle rigging of loads from a crane hook to other rigging points inside a structure or building.
+ Comply with OSHA regulations related to the shipbuilding industry.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.36 - $27.31/hr.
