Position overview:

As the Engineering Manager for Capella Bangkok, you will play a vital role in supporting the Director of Engineering in overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this role involves managing the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, ensuring the hotel's facilities and systems are maintained to the highest standards. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in maintaining the physical integrity of our luxury property.

The Role:

• Engineering Manager leads and manage the engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and uphold the hotel's standards of excellence.
• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of the hotel, including routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks (CARE program).
• Monitor and collaborate with landscaping team to ensure our landscaping is in good condition all the time.
• Ensure the prompt and effective resolution of maintenance requests and issues.
• Demonstrate a strong technical understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and address technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
• Assist Director of Engineering to monitor expenses, implement cost-control measures, and seek opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Assist in overseeing capital improvement projects and renovations, coordinating with contractors and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Assist Director of Engineering in preparing the engineering P&L, Utilities, CAPEX budget.
• Provide input on project specifications and requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular training for engineering staff.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for the inspection and maintenance of all equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary parts and resources.
• Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices to reduce the hotel's environmental impact.
• Monitor energy consumption and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Act as a key member of the emergency response team, providing leadership and technical expertise during emergencies.
• Develop and maintain emergency procedures for the engineering department.
• Provide training and development opportunities for engineering staff to enhance technical skills and professional growth.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in hotel engineering
