Description We are looking for a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper to join a company in Cincinnati, Ohio. This contract position offers the opportunity to manage essential accounting tasks, contribute to month-end close activities, and ensure financial accuracy in a collaborative environment. If you have a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting, this role may be a great fit for you. Responsibilities: - Record and post bi-weekly payroll transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies. - Allocate and accurately record credit card transactions to appropriate accounts. - Reconcile bank statements with the general ledger and address any discrepancies. - Prepare and post journal entries based on bank reconciliation outcomes. - Manage monthly accruals and assist with additional accrual-related journal entries. - Create and enter journal entries for monthly accounting processes. - Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements. - Provide additional accounting and bookkeeping support as necessary. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping, preferably in a similar capacity. - Strong knowledge of general ledger management, reconciliation, and accrual accounting. - Familiarity with payroll recording and credit card transaction allocation. - Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics 365, along with advanced Excel skills. - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. - Ability to work independently and consistently meet recurring deadlines.
