As a Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator, you are an integral part of our organization. Responsible for operating and maintaining machines that extrude or draw out plastic hoses, deck drain, and other custom plastic products. Every employee is responsible for quality control; you help us make the best products in the industry!

Essential Functions of a Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator:

• Intermediate understanding of process and flow of the department and Extrusion process
• Learn how to maintain 1 extrusion line with no assistance
• Full understanding of all equipment associated with Extrusion. (Hopper, vacuum tank, puller, saw
  functions)
• Full understanding of tooling assembly and disassembly
• Intermediate knowledge of the extruder including screw, temperature settings and die assembly
• Full understanding of fuller set up including leveling, speed settings, belt changing and belt tracking
• Intermediate saw set up including leveling, cut height, cut length, blade changes, block changes from flat
  to "V" for tubes
• Intermediate grinder set up including proper use to prevent jamming, proper cleaning, checking blade
  clearance to screen, unjamming, and labeling
• Introduction to the standard extrusion formulas including calculating rate, weight, and feet per minute.
• Learn how to troubleshoot equipment issues when a problem arises to gain efficiencies as well as
  becoming self-sufficient
• Intermediate understanding of process and flow of the department
• Full understanding of how to start up, shut down, and run assigned manufacturing processing equipment
• Operate machines at a rate which will meet scheduled production requirements while maintaining safety
  and quality standards
• Intermediate ability to perform machine adjustments & setup

Qualifications for a Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous manufacturing experience required
• Experience operating a forklift preferred/ the ability to obtain certification
• Will be required to climb, lift, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Ability to lift 50 pounds independently
• Ability to work at a steady and consistent pace

2nd Shift 3:45 PM - 12:00 AM (Monday - Friday)

Second Shift Differential $1.00/Hour
