**Job Description:**
Idaho Power - located in vibrant Boise, Idaho - is looking for a _Fleet Maintenance Leader_ to join our fleet shops. It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. **What does the Fleet Maintenance Leader do for us:**
They provide leadership and oversight for fabrication and maintenance operations across the fleet service centers and develop and implement strategies to ensure fabrication services, equipment and vehicles are managed through the lifecycle while ensuring field business needs are met. This role provides leadership and coaching to foreman, technical advisors, fleet technicians, welders/fab technicians, and machinist. They also implement fleet practices and ensure that the fleet is maintained and operated effectively and is compliant with all Federal and State, Department of Transportation (DOT), ANSI, and OSHA regulations.

**A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**
**Knowledge of:**
+ Strong working knowledge of a fleet repair facility
+ OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and other state and federal regulations and requirements for transportation, utility, and construction equipment
+ Mathematics, utility, and construction operating practices and procedures
+ Standard office procedures
+ Software programs such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
+ Fleet information management systems
**Preferred:**
+ Idaho Power organizational structure, operations, policies, and procedures, including fleet-related accounting and financial systems/procedures
+ PeopleSoft and Fleet Focus software
+ Forklift safety, lockout-tagout
+ Strong mathematical, organizational, and excel skills
**Skills in:**
+ Proficiency in utilizing fleet management software and telematics systems
+ Strong interpersonal communication, team building, and management skills
+ Proficient research and documentation
+ Customer service, including a positive customer service orientation with both internal and external customers
+ Independent decision making and accountability
**Ability to:**
+ Work under pressure and multi-tasking concurrent high priority projects
+ Consider and balance customer, employee, and shareowner views when making decisions
+ Develop relationships with customers and venders while maintaining a high level of integrity
+ Manage time and resources effectively
+ Provide effective leadership and develop a team environment
+ Resolve conflicts among team members and other work groups
+ Maintain accurate records
+ Manage multiple projects at one time
+ Remain current on relevant issues and industry topics
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**Education:**
+ High school diploma or GED
**AND**
+ Completion of vocational school in welding, diesel mechanics or automotive or equivalent experience in these industries
**Preferred:**
+ Associate degree in automotive science or equivalent field
**Experience:**
+ 5 years at a journeyman level craftsperson in fleet-related and/or fabrication areas
+ 2 years leadership experience
**Preferred:**
+ Experience in creating and establishing fleet procedures, from vehicle/equipment assignment to replacement cycling, from personal use to accident reporting
+ 3 years of leading fleet, fabrication, or similar shop operations
**Licenses & Certifications:**
+ Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
+ DOT medical card
+ Current DOT FMCSA 49 CFR Part 383 Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain prior to hire
+ Forklift Certification or ability to obtain card within 60 days of hire
+ Lock Out/Tag Out Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
+ Must obtain First Aid/CPR card within 90 days of hire
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. Position occasionally requires climbing up on or crawling under equipment. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. Job placement is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical evaluation, the DOT medical certificate exam. This job may require the performance of additional tasks assigned by company leaders or management.
