Call Center Medical Assistant
The Call Center Medical Assistant supports the Call Center by serving as a liaison to the patient's primary care teams, helping address or appropriately route any medical inquiries received from the patient or clinician. The Call Center MA is the main contact for clinicians and entities that communicate with the call center.
This role is 100% on-site in Midtown Sacramento, CA (95811).
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm; Rotating Saturdays
Essential Functions
- Provide lab and imaging results to patients upon request.
- Monitor, respond to, and route medical inquiries received via MyChart and the clinician line.
- Accurately document all patient interactions through electronic health systems.
- Deliver follow-up instructions, health education, and counseling as directed by clinicians.
- Offer confidential, culturally sensitive interpretation between patients and clinical staff.
- Maintain up-to-date and complete electronic patient records.
- Review and coordinate preventive health maintenance according to established schedules.
- Answer incoming calls to the call center professionally and efficiently.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations across departments.
- Ensure patient demographic and insurance information is accurate and current; verify eligibility as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active BLS or CPR Certification
- Medical Assistant Diploma
- Over one year of hands-on experience in a Medical Assisting role, with proven proficiency in:
- Medical terminology and documentation
- Communicating effectively and compassionately with patients regarding confidential and sensitive health information, in accordance with HIPAA regulations
