**Job Title: General Utility Worker**
**Job Description**
The General Utility Worker is an entry-level production role that involves various duties within the production area. This general labor position requires adherence to policies and procedures for meat processing, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations. The role is vital for maintaining clean and sanitary production areas and contributing to smooth operations.
**Responsibilities**
+ Maintain all production areas in clean and sanitary conditions.
+ Communicate any issues that lead to unsanitary conditions promptly.
+ Remove product and packing materials from the floor.
+ Properly dispose of and track inedible products.
+ Separate and remove trash and recycling from production areas.
+ Stage production areas with empty containers for the following shift.
+ Assist with preparing/disassembling equipment for operation or sanitation.
+ Ensure proper identification of product and line to avoid cross-contamination.
+ Assist in relieving co-workers for breaks by performing other tasks as needed.
+ Accurately complete any assigned paperwork.
+ Assist in training new employees accurately.
+ Check in with supervisors for additional tasks or shutdown activities at shift end.
+ Inspect cases to ensure they are labeled with clear, legible code dates.
+ Make necessary adjustments to machinery for smooth production.
+ Operate a manual hand jack as needed.
+ Communicate equipment malfunctions promptly.
+ Prepare supplies and workstation for the next shift.
+ Stage ingredients in 50lb containers to maintain product flow.
+ Arrange meat per specifications.
+ Continuously comb, hang, transport, and stack products.
+ Inspect products for quality specifications on a conveyor belt.
+ Perform job duties accurately and efficiently.
**Essential Skills**

+ Ability to follow directions and work under minimal supervision.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.
+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in food manufacturing, food safety, food handling, or food production is beneficial.
+ Candidates with backgrounds from Kraft, Tyson, Hill & Valley would excel.

**Work Environment**
This role operates in a manufacturing environment where employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and high places. The environment includes colder (30 degrees) and warmer temperature areas with high noise levels. Physical demands include standing and walking throughout the shift, lifting/carrying at least 50 lbs, and using hands and fingers to handle or feel. **Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
