**Lead Behavioral Health Specialist - CCS** **Job Details** **Job Location** WHCG - Milwaukee, WI **Position Type** Full Time - Union **Education Level** Bachelor's Degree **Travel Percentage** Road Warrior **Job Shift** 1st Shift **Job Category** Nonprofit - Social Services **Description** **Job Purpose:** This is a professional position that is responsible for the care and treatment of adults who struggle with mental illness and/or substance use. CCS is a community-based program in which majority of services are provided in clients' homes and communities. The Lead Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) provides services such as individual skill development, medication monitoring, wellness management to CCS clients and assist clients in reaching their identified goals. This position will also assist with training new staff and completing administrative tasks. **Essential Job Functions:** _(Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.)_ + Train, onboard, guide employees, provide ongoing support, and leadership to the entire team. + Audit case notes and tracking of documentation. + Assist in managing incoming referrals. + Responsible for maintaining a treatment-oriented environment (under the supervision of direct supervisor) and ensuring consistency in carrying out treatment objectives. + Record meeting minutes and share with members of the team. + Participate in quality improvement initiatives and report on related mental health rehabilitation outcomes. + Collaborate with leadership to develop policies, workflows, and training programs. + Integrate and promote CCS to internal programs across CFI to increase volumes and customers served. + Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to care coordination outcomes. + Ensure note templates remain current by incorporating Milwaukee County feedback and regulations. + Provide leadership and role modeling of the Comprehensive Community Services process + Provide psychosocial rehabilitative services for assigned clients and document clinical files for all client contacts. + Consults with direct supervisor on concerns and client needs. + Monitors client activities and facility environment; helps to create a safe and therapeutic environment for clients; follows established safe practices; protects clients from personal injury; follows safety protocols and calls for assistance as required. + Intervenes as necessary to prevent harmful behavior and de-escalate clients, monitors, and reviews clients' physical and emotional stability. + Assists consumers in learning independent living skills, which are defined in the client's Community Treatment Plan. + Monitors client medication regimen and compliance as directed by their physician, as well as teaching about symptoms through support and education. + Reports to appropriate staff any changes in consumer behavior and functioning. + Familiarizes with the client's Community Treatment Plan. + Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training seminars, and conferences as required. + Provide community visits in clients' homes and client transportation in personal vehicle as needed. + Attend recovery meetings with the client and the team. + Meets department-designated monthly billing quotas, EHR note entry within 24 hours, and other funder required documentation. + Provide client coverage for other staff members as assigned. + Adheres to agency and Milwaukee County (funder) policies and procedures while carrying out daily responsibilities. + Attendance at community-based MC3 Change Agent meetings as delegated. + Required attendance in Trauma Informed Care Trainings. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials:** (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted) **Minimum Required Education:** Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, or related Human Services Field. **Minimum Required Experience:** Experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders is preferred. Also have two years' experience working in the CCS program **Required License - Certification - Registration:** None **Travel Type:** Road Warrior **Required Valid Driver's License:** yes **Required Auto Insurance:** Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with agency policy. **Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:** - Proficient in Microsoft Office, such as Word, Outlook, Teams, and basic office technology (e.g., computer, cell phone, fax). - Reliability in reporting to work regularly and on time. - Must possess good communication, listening, writing and organizational skills. - Effectively manages one's own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals. - Build and maintain client satisfaction with the services offered by the organization. - Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks. - Ability to perform well in a fast-paced work environment. - Experience with motivational interviewing is preferred. - An understanding of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring needs and the ability to clearly communicate these to others. - Ability to support with emergency situations. - The ability to maintain and promote positive working relationships and work openly and effectively with one's direct supervisor, colleagues, and outside agencies. - Knowledge of Milwaukee County TCM, CCS and/or CSP/ACT Case Management is preferred. **Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:** **Physical Requirements:** On occasion must be able to push/pull/lift/move objects weighing at least 20 pounds. Must have the ability to climb at least two flights of stairs. Work is performed largely in the community but may at times include an office environment or other various settings. **Visual Acuity:** The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal. **Working Conditions:** This is a community-based position. Staff are expected to utilize their personal vehicles to transport clients and meet with clients in their homes. This position may work in a variety of indoor and outdoor work environments which may include various outdoor weather conditions, loud noises, fluctuating temperatures and the occasional use of stairs. The hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week. This position requires participation in reoccurring 'on-call' duties and flexibility in daily work schedule to adequately meet program needs, which may include evenings or weekends.
