We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Director to join our team! The Warehouse Director is responsible for the leadership, development, and performance of the warehouse and traffic operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient handling, staging, shipping, receiving, and storage of client and company inventory to meet the demands of hundreds of tradeshows and events annually. This position will establish high standards for accuracy, safety, accountability, and driving process improvements while aligning operations with company goals and client satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all warehouse and traffic operations personnel including Warehouse Managers, Foremen, Traffic Managers, and Service Techs.
  • Work with existing staff across multiple departments to develop and document standard operating procedures for warehouse functions.
  • Develop and oversee training plans for new hires.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of warehouse leadership and crew members.
  • Define and monitor job performance expectations for all staff; conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Provide mentorship and development paths for department leaders and individual team members.
  • Review and approve timecards; ensure time tracking is accurate and reflects job and client requirements.
  • Evaluate and improve the department's organizational structure to ensure operational efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee warehouse operations to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Collaborate closely with the Traffic Department and review the Master Shipping Calendar to align labor and resources with shipping deadlines.
  • Ensure the warehouse operates with optimal efficiency, safety, and accuracy, with client satisfaction as the top priority.
  • Oversee the daily, weekly, and long-term workflows of all warehouse operations, including inbound and outbound freight, inventory management, and show preparation.
  • Lead project planning in partnership with Account Services, Production, and Design teams, ensuring show schedules are met and that shipments are accurate and timely.
  • Implement tracking tools and documented procedures to reduce errors, increase accuracy, and ensure accountability in packing, labeling, and staging of freight. Analyze data regularly to identify trends and prevent recurring mistakes or missed items.
  • Develop, document, and implement operational processes that improve efficiency, accountability, safety, and consistency across all areas of the warehouse. Ensure these processes are clearly communicated and regularly reviewed for improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, staging, labeling, and storage.
  • Monitor space utilization, equipment usage, staffing plans, and throughput to ensure deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align departmental strategies with overall company goals, including growth initiatives, efficiency targets, and client service improvements.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by implementing systems for inventory tracking, quality control, labeling, and reporting.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and implement corrective measures to streamline operations.
  • Maintain and enforce safety procedures in accordance with OSHA standards and CenterPoint policies; serve as a lead member of the Safety Committee.
  • Oversee inspections and maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, dock doors, racking systems, and fleet vehicles; coordinate with the Production Manager on repair schedules and safety compliance.
  • Support large or complex event schedules with hands-on involvement during peak demand periods, including extended hours and urgent shipment coordination when needed.
  • Lead department meetings and represent warehouse operations in company-wide production and planning meetings, including a twice-weekly production review.
  • Monitor labor utilization and project fulfillment reports; adjust resources and workflows to optimize outcomes.
  • Lead warehouse readiness for external client visits and internal audits.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least three in a senior or director-level leadership role.
  • Tradeshow or event industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid forklift license (or willingness to obtain); CenterPoint will maintain certification and provide testing as required.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse logistics, inventory management, and tradeshow or event operations.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to lead teams with confidence, delegate effectively, and coach staff at all levels.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments and stakeholders.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods during site walkthroughs and peak periods.

Pay: $105,000-$130,000 annually
