Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Cicero, Illinois. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in managing cost analysis, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting to support informed decision-making across the organization. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who excel in accounting systems and have a passion for delivering accurate financial insights. Responsibilities: - Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. - Analyze and reconcile inventory records and cost of goods sold to ensure accuracy. - Maintain and update the standard cost system, including bills of materials and labor routings. - Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support financial planning. - Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with accounting standards. - Provide required documentation and support for internal and external audits. - Collaborate with operations and production teams to deliver actionable cost insights. - Utilize accounting software systems and ERP tools to manage and report financial activities. Requirements - Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP tools, such as Epicor and Crystal Reports. - Strong knowledge of financial services and auditing processes, including ADP. - Expertise in accounts payable, budgeting, and cash activity management. - Familiarity with maintaining and updating bill of materials and labor routings. - Experience in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. - Ability to analyze financial data and provide cost insights to operational teams. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments.
