In your role as Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work very closely with the shop, sales and engineering teams in a uniquely blended role to see our custom conveyor products from concept to installation. Your role will design new products from initial sketch to bringing new products to market.

Overview:

In your role as Mechanical Design Engineer, innovation is key. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engineering solutions to meet project requirements. This role requires a high level of creativity and resourcefulness, technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engineering solutions to meet project specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technicians, project managers, and other engineers, to ensure successful project completion.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.
  • Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling to support the design and development process.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to select and evaluate materials, components, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices throughout the engineering process.
  • Conduct testing and validation of engineering solutions to ensure functionality, safety, and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to technicians.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies to continuously improve engineering practices.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering within the manufacturing industry, experience in conveyors preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in engineering principles, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Proficient in using engineering software, tools, and CAD programs. Including AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Vault, Ilogic and Smartsheets.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work performed.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or relevant certifications are preferred.

Work Location:

The person would need to work in our offices Monday through Friday in Naperville, IL. We are close to I-88, near Diehl Rd and Route 59.
