Advisors engage in intentional, holistic, and relationship-centered interactions to empower all students to navigate their unique paths and foster learning, development, and academic success. Position Summary Academic Success Coordinators (ASCs)/Advisors provide academic advising, support, and outreach to undergraduate students. Through individual appointments, group settings, and a variety of programs, they guide and support students in the process of transitioning to and through the university. ASCs/Advisors help students track their academic progress and degree progression, explore majors, minors, and other opportunities, and develop successful academic behaviors. Individuals in these positions work with individuals and units across campus and are members of the ASC & Advising Network. This is an open posting for ASC /Advisor positions that may become available throughout the year. The projected positions might include work in Exploratory Studies, or they may be housed within an academic college/department. Required Job Qualifications + Bachelor's degree plus 2 or more years of professional experience with direct student support services in a higher education setting. OR + Master's degree plus 1 or more years of professional experience working in education, programs or organizations focused on student success, career counseling or coaching, enrollment services, advising, student affairs, retention, or graduation efforts. + Demonstrated commitment to CSUsLand-Grant Mission (https://www.colostate.edu/land-grant/) of access and opportunity. Preferred Job Qualifications + Demonstrated experience in coaching others through educational goal attainment or decision-making processes. + Demonstrated understanding of student development and awareness of the transition issues of students entering and progressing through higher education. Specific experience working with under-represented students - first generation, ethnically diverse, military veteran, non-traditional aged, student parents, disabled students, etc. - preferred in this role. + Demonstrated experience developing, facilitating, and evaluating student success intervention programs & strategies for students. + Demonstrated experience facilitating groups in settings such as new student seminars, workshops, new student orientation sessions, and/or similar programs. + Self-motivated team player with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, manage their time, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
