WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AS OUR ESTIMATOR:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Estimator to join our team. This person will support our quoting process for lift installations, repairs, inspections, and garage equipment projects. You'll work closely with sales reps and project managers to review customer requests, interpret specs, and develop accurate, competitive cost proposals.
This role is perfect for someone with 1-3 years of estimating or technical quoting experience - or a strong construction/service/trades background looking to move into estimating. This position is a perfect entry-point for those looking to move into Project Management in the next 2-4 years, whether at Ray Jurgen or elsewhere.
Prepare labor and material estimates for equipment installations, repairs, and inspections
Interpret RFQs, site photos, and bid specs to develop accurate scopes and pricing
Break down costs for materials, subcontractors, labor, freight, and margins
Coordinate with internal sales team to meet customer deadlines and quoting standards
Track versions and maintain estimate records in Excel and/or NetSuite
Support handoff of awarded jobs to Project Managers with clear scope and documentation
Maintain cost databases and assist with pricing updates from vendors
1-3 years of experience in estimating, service operations, or project coordination
Ability to read basic drawings, specifications, or bid packages
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Excel; NetSuite or estimating software is a plus
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple quotes
Experience with lift systems, commercial garage equipment, or public bid work is a strong plus
Familiarity with Prevailing Wage / Davis-Bacon jobs
Understanding of the construction process or facility upgrades
Previous experience in automotive service, construction, or mechanical contracting
Base Salary: $60,000-$65,000/year
