**Job Title: Concrete Laborer** **Job Description** This role offers steady, year-round work performing municipal concrete repair and replacement projects throughout the Saint Louis and Saint Louis County area. You will focus on sidewalks, stairs and steps, flatwork, and dock/loading dock slabs, including removal and replacement, as well as setting and finishing concrete around grates and frames. The position is ideal for an experienced concrete professional who consistently delivers high-quality finishes and takes ownership of skilled labor responsibilities on municipal flatwork and repair jobs. **Responsibilities** + Perform municipal concrete repair and replacement work, including demolition, site preparation, concrete placement, and restoration. + Set forms for a variety of flatwork and repair applications, such as sidewalks, steps and stairs, approaches and ramps, and slabs. + Place reinforcement materials, including rebar, dowels, and mesh, and assist with layout and grade to meet project specifications. + Pour, spread, screed, float, edge, broom, and trowel concrete to achieve the required finish quality and appearance. + Perform concrete finishing tasks independently and, when needed, act as a lead hand on the crew to help guide work in the field. + Set and adjust grates and frames around drainage and similar structures, ensuring they are correctly set to grade and finished neatly. + Operate and maintain common concrete tools and equipment, including hand tools, vibrators, saws, and demolition tools. + Work outdoors in variable weather conditions while maintaining productivity, quality, and adherence to project schedules. + Follow all safety standards, wear required personal protective equipment, and comply with site-specific municipal and jobsite rules. **Essential Skills** + Approximately 5 or more years of hands-on concrete labor experience, preferably in municipal or similar field work. + Proven ability to perform concrete finishing, including clean, consistent edges and smooth transitions around fixtures and structures. + Experience setting and working around grates and frames, including the ability to set to grade and finish concrete neatly around them. + Strong skills in concrete flatwork, including sidewalks, steps, ramps, slabs, and approaches. + Proficiency with concrete form setting for flatwork and repair projects. + Experience with concrete pouring, including proper placement, consolidation, and finishing techniques. + Ability to use common construction and concrete tools such as hand tools, saws, vibrators, and demolition equipment. + Capability to work productively outdoors in a field environment while following safety procedures and PPE requirements. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Commercial driving license (CDL A or B) is a plus and may provide access to additional work opportunities and higher pay. + Experience with concrete demolition, including saw cutting, jackhammering, and removal, as well as replacement sequencing. + Ability to read basic construction drawings and layout or assist with setting grade using lasers and levels, depending on crew structure. + Experience in sidewalk and ADA-style repairs, steps, approaches, and slab replacement work. + Comfort working on municipal projects with an emphasis on repair, replacement, and high-quality finishes. + Spanish-speaking and ESL candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply. **Why Work Here?** You will join a team that offers steady, year-round work supported by long-standing municipal contracts, providing stability and consistent hours. Crews work year-round due to long-standing municipal contracts, with downtime generally limited to periods of severe weather. The environment is hands-on and physically active, involving concrete removal, form setting, reinforcement placement, pouring, and finishing. You will regularly use standard concrete tools and construction equipment such as hand tools, vibrators, saws, and demolition tools. Safety is a core expectation, with consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to municipal and jobsite safety rules. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
