Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting people at one of life's most meaningful stages? Do you believe in the power of human connection and compassionate service? We're looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to help lead and grow our exceptional volunteer program.

This vital role supports both our patients and the volunteers who serve them-ensuring a well-run, compliant, and heart-centered program that makes a real impact every day. You'll be part of a deeply mission-driven team that values collaboration, respect, and purposeful work.

What You'll Do:

As the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, you'll be responsible for managing all the moving pieces of our hospice volunteer program-from recruitment and training to scheduling and compliance. You'll work closely with our Volunteer Manager, clinical team, and community volunteers to:

  • Coordinate volunteer services for patients and families, ensuring the right support at the right time.
  • Recruit and train a diverse, caring volunteer team ready to serve in both patient-facing and administrative roles.
  • Maintain compliance with all hospice regulations, including volunteer documentation and service hour tracking.
  • Foster strong relationships with volunteers and interdisciplinary care teams to promote collaboration and continuity of care.
  • Support agency-wide volunteer initiatives, helping our program grow in both reach and impact.

What You Bring:

  • Experience or education in social work, healthcare, volunteer management, or a related field.
  • A proactive, organized approach and a strong sense of ownership in your work.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comfort working independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn specialized systems like BetterImpact and HomeCare HomeBase (training provided).
  • A valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle-you'll be both in-office and in the field.
  • Occasional evenings or weekends may be required, with advance notice
