Forestry Supervisor
**Job Type** : Full-Time

**Under the supervision of the Vegetation Manager this position will work with the Vegetation Planning Supervisor and regional foresters to ensure completion of the annual plan. And that all line clearance activities are completed on time and on budget.**
**Job Description:**
+ Ensure safety and reliability while overseeing vegetation management work in the field.
+ Support regional foresters throughout Midwest footprint, overnight travel is expected.
+ Train new foresters and conduct field visits to monitor progress.
+ Communicate daily with the foresters, contractors, and general public.
+ Frequent interaction with property owners refusing tree work expected.
+ Assist in aerial inspections and auditing completed work.
+ Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
**Job Qualifications:**
Candidate(s) will be required to meet the following requirements:
+ Bachelors or Associates in Forestry, Arboriculture or Horticulture
+ 5+ years of utility vegetation management experience
+ ISA Arborist qualification required within in 6 months
+ ISA Utility Specialist Certification recommended
+ Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) recommended
+ Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
+ Experience working with data collection devices and GIS software
+ General knowledge of utility vegetation management equipment (bucket/manual crew equipment, mowers, off-road tree removal equipment, herbicide application methods & equipment).
+ Must be able and willing to fly aerial patrol in helicopter
+ Must be able and willing to travel throughout customer footprint
+ Ability to verbally communicate effectively and accurately.
+ Strong computer skills.es may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
**License & Certifications:**
+ Valid driver license required.
**Travel Requirements:**
+ Must have reliable transportation to and from the work location.
**Physical Requirements:**

**Safety**
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
