Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Post Closing & Quality Control Analyst to support the integrity and compliance of our mortgage loan portfolio. This role will focus on auditing closed loan files, conducting monthly QC selections, and producing actionable reports that support regulatory compliance, internal policies, and investor guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of post-closing procedures, compliance requirements, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive post-closing audits of residential mortgage loans to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Select loans monthly for Quality Control review, including both random and targeted selections, based on investor, agency, and internal audit requirements.
  • Conduct QC reviews for TRID, HMDA/HOEPA, QM status, document accuracy, MI validation, insurance compliance, and escrow setup.
  • Identify and document post-closing deficiencies; track and ensure resolution of all exceptions and trailing documents.
  • Analyze audit findings, identify trends or process gaps, and escalate material defects or red flags to management.
  • Prepare and maintain audit summary reports, exception logs, and compliance dashboards using Excel and internal systems.
  • Review and reconcile closing disclosures, validate fee tolerances, and ensure closing conditions have been fully met.
  • Support reporting to internal compliance, risk, and executive leadership teams on audit results and process trends.
  • Assist in responding to regulatory, investor, or internal audit requests as needed.
  • Continuously monitor industry regulations and guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance with investor and agency requirements.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Mortgage Post Closing, Quality Control, Underwriting, or Loan Delivery.
  • Strong understanding of TRID, QM, FHA/VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other investor guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting mortgage file audits and resolving post-closing exceptions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel – must be able to create and manage reports using formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with LOS and QC systems (e.g., Encompass, AllRegs, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
  • Prior experience in investor reporting or compliance monitoring.
  • FHA DE or VA LAPP certifications a plus.
  • Experience working in both Retail and TPO/Wholesale lending environments.
