Job Description
Description We are seeking a skilled HRIS in the non-profit sector, located in Detroit, Michigan. The primary focus of this role is to manage the financial aspects of grants, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain accurate records. The role also involves preparing financial reports and advising the team on grant-related issues. Responsibilities: - Supervise the receipt and tracking of grant funds to ensure they align with the grantor's specifications - Produce accurate and timely financial reports for grantors - Review and approve grant budgets and financial proposals - Maintain accounting principles and federal and state regulations for grant accounts - Work with the program staff to monitor project activities and provide necessary financial guidance - Regularly reconcile grant accounts and resolve any discrepancies - Coordinate with external auditors during grant-related audits - Understand the terms and conditions of each grant to ensure that all financial operations comply with these guidelines - Coach and advise other staff members on issues related to grant accounting and compliance - Use skills in Microsoft Excel, Accounts Payable (AP), Federal Grant, Grant Accounting, and Grant Management to perform tasks effectively. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a HRIS role, preferably within a non-profit setting - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create, analyze, and maintain complex spreadsheets - Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP), with a thorough understanding of AP processes and principles - Familiarity with Federal Grant procedures and regulations is necessary - Prior experience in Grant Accounting and Grant Management is essential - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion - Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
