Position Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for providing pharmaceutical services to the patient in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and state and federal laws. These services involve compounding and dispensing drugs; requisitioning pharmaceuticals and biologics; providing consultative services to hospitals and extended care facilities; and assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of pharmacy operations and programs for the enforcement of (state & federal) laws and regulations pertaining to drugs. The Pharmacist interacts with physicians, nurses and other hospital staff. Plans, assigns, and/or supervises the work of technicians and runners.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education
Graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy
Required licensures/certifications
Registration with Florida State Board of Pharmacy
Skills and Abilities
Must possess good oral and written communications skills in the English language
Able to work under minimal supervision with extensive use of initiative and independent judgement.
Experience
One year experience (minimum) in inpatient hospital pharmacy preferred.
