Job Description

Join our dedicated Mobile Crisis Outreach Team at the Wasatch County Family Clinic in Heber, Utah as a Part-Time Peer Support Specialist and make a real impact in your community. Funded by the state and dispatched by local 911 and the state 988 mental health crisis line, our team provides crucial support to individuals experiencing mental health crises in Summit County and Wasatch County.

Compensation:

(Non-Certified) Base Wage: Starting Actual Hourly Rate: $16.49 - $20.90 DOE

(Certified) Base Wage: Starting Actual Hourly Rate: $17.33 - $21.95 DOE

Schedule: Monday - Friday (24 Hour shift coverage) Night 11pm - 7am, Day 7am - 3pm, Swing 3pm - 11pm

Essential Functions (Performs all or some of the following)

Provides safe, effective and efficient consumer-centered implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care. Establishes, maintains and co-facilitates a therapeutic relationship with clients. Assists in establishing and maintaining a recovery-oriented program culture and therapeutic milieu.

Engages clients individually and in groups to instill hope, encourage personal responsibility for recovery, and facilitate the development of recovery goals, self-advocacy skills, natural supports, crisis plans and recovery plans. Models competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills, articulating points in his/her own recovery story that are relevant to the challenges faced by clients receiving services in the program. Observes, records and reports client behavior and progress as indicated.

As a key member of our team we offer a Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm position, where you'll work alongside a licensed therapist. Together, you'll respond to crises, offering compassion and intervention to those in need. In this role, you'll often collaborate closely with law enforcement on scene, providing valuable expertise from lived experience to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; AND One (1) year post high school education in social work, psychology or a related field; AND One (1) year of general work experience; OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Successfully completed a Peer Support Training through the Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH); Self-identified individual who is in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use disorder; or parent of a child with a behavioral health disorder; or other adult who has or has had an ongoing and personal relationship with an individual with a behavioral health disorder.

Additional Requirements: Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
