Job Summary
We are hiring a Mechanical Drafter to create and maintain detailed 3D models for HVAC and plumbing systems using BIM software. This role works closely with engineering, project management, and CAD/BIM teams to support accurate designs, coordinate across disciplines, and keep project documentation aligned with industry standards. The position also includes updating models based on field changes and supporting project setup and quality checks in Revit.
Responsibilities
+ Create detailed 3D models of HVAC and plumbing systems using Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM tools
+ Collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to develop accurate building information models
+ Assist with mechanical design work and support drafting deliverables for active projects
+ Coordinate with other disciplines to maintain model accuracy and integrity
+ Update models based on field changes and project needs
+ Set up projects in Revit and publish models to project platforms as needed
+ Review and quality check your own work for accuracy and completeness
+ Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical or piping schematic layouts
+ Participate in project meetings to discuss progress and resolve design issues
+ Communicate regularly with project management and field teams
+ Support CAD-related clerical and documentation tasks
+ Meet project deadlines and maintain consistent work output
Qualifications
Required
+ Experience with AutoCAD in a drafting or design role
+ Experience with Revit
+ At least 2 years of HVAC drafting or design experience
+ Ability to read blueprints
+ Experience with mechanical and piping schematic layouts
+ Knowledge of 3D Revit family geometry creation and manipulation
+ Strong mechanical and conceptual aptitude
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment
+ Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to changing responsibilities
+ Proficiency with Windows, Teams, and Microsoft Office
Preferred
+ Plumbing and mechanical pipe modeling experience
+ Piping drawing experience
+ Knowledge of Oregon Mechanical Code
+ Knowledge of plumbing code
+ Experience with Revit Fabrication MEP
+ Experience with Navisworks, Revizto, Newforma Konekt, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar tools
+ College degree in CAD, drafting, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Work Environment or Schedule
+ Hybrid role
+ Office-based team environment working closely with engineering and CAD/BIM teams
+ Regular attendance and ability to meet project schedules are expected

+ Contract to hire opportunity
+ Initial contract duration is 9 months

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
