**Job Title: General Production Worker / Production Operator** **Job Description** This role focuses on operating production machinery, particularly laser and other CNC equipment, to manufacture high-quality metal parts and tools for industrial and commercial applications. You will work in a growing, family-owned fabrication facility, supporting new equipment and increased production demand on a first-shift schedule with overtime as needed. This is a 6‑month contract-to-hire opportunity in a modern, 71,000 square foot machining and metal fabrication environment. **Responsibilities** + Operate laser and other computer numeric controlled (CNC) production equipment to produce parts and tools from metal and other materials according to specifications. + Review and interpret blueprints for finished products to determine machine settings, material requirements, and cutting paths. + Set up machines by adjusting speed, material feed, and path of the cut, ensuring correct tooling, fixtures, and programs are in place. + Verify that machines are set up properly, are functioning correctly, and are producing parts that meet quality standards. + Monitor machines to ensure they are running at full capacity, are stocked with the required materials, and are maintained in good working order. + Perform periodic checks on production output to confirm accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. + Inspect finished products to ensure they are defect-free and ready for the next step in the production process. + Use hand and power tools to perform basic mechanical repairs and adjustments on production equipment as needed. + Work collaboratively with teammates to troubleshoot issues, solve production problems, and maintain workflow. + Follow established quality management system procedures and safety guidelines while working in a fast-paced, job shop environment. + Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. **Essential Skills** + At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience. + At least 3 years of experience operating production equipment and machinery. + Hands-on experience using hand and power tools, including the ability to perform basic mechanical repairs. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints for manufacturing and machine setup. + Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety. + Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with teammates to solve problems. + Self-motivated work style with a willingness to stay busy and productive, even when primary tasks are completed. + Aptitude for math, problem-solving, and basic computer skills used in setting up and tearing down equipment. + Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes used for machine setup and operation. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience operating laser cutting equipment or laser machinery. + Previous CNC machine operation experience in a metal fabrication or machining environment. + Blueprint reading experience in a production or fabrication setting. + Strong math skills to support accurate measurements, setups, and quality checks. + Demonstrated ability to maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment. + Familiarity with machine operation, assembly, laser operation, and use of hand grinders. + Comfort working around welding operations and supporting weld setup activities. **Why Work Here?** Join a stable, family-owned company with over four decades of industry experience and a strong commitment to culture, quality, and continuous growth. You will work around welders and participate in setting up welds in a fast-paced yet easygoing atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork and quality. The position is on first shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with Saturday hours from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. as needed for overtime. Initial hours are expected to be 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The dress code includes jeans, a shirt, and steel-toe footwear, with a uniform provided once you are hired on directly. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marion, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
