Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial operations for a major group within the construction industry. This role plays a critical part in providing strategic financial guidance, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulations. As a key partner to senior leadership, you will oversee financial planning, reporting, and operational efficiency while driving continuous improvements. Responsibilities: - Lead and mentor Finance, Accounting, and Cost teams, fostering growth and high performance. - Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, offering insights to drive business decisions and operational strategy. - Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses. - Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and profit planning processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. - Drive efficiency through the enhancement of financial systems, processes, and internal controls. - Collaborate with leadership on new business opportunities and strategic initiatives. - Ensure compliance with bonding, insurance, and regulatory requirements, as well as internal risk management policies. - Optimize cash management processes, including billing, collections, and working capital. - Lead financial risk management efforts by developing and communicating relevant policies and procedures. - Represent the organization in community and industry events, strengthening external relationships. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in construction or project-based finance. - Strong expertise in financial reporting and analysis, including complex contract accounting. - Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel, with a focus on data analysis and forecasting. - Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines. - Demonstrated success in managing teams, including performance evaluations and employee development. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership. - Commitment to continuous improvement and driving organizational change. - Willingness to travel as needed and actively participate in industry-related organizations.
