Finance Procurement Specialist
**POSITION DETAILS**
Brooklyn College is soliciting applications for a Finance Procurement Specialist. Reporting to the Finance Procurement Director the Finance Procurement Specialist will administer the procurement process for goods and services in accordance with NYS Procurement Guidelines and CUNY Procurement Policy. This role involves conducting solicitations, reviewing purchasing requisitions, preparing detailed specifications, and ensuring compliance with procurement standards. The Finance Procurement Specialist will also engage in supplier negotiations and provide exceptional customer service to both internal departments and external stakeholders.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Finance Procurement Specialist's duties include but are not limited to:
+ Administer the purchase of materials and services in assigned fields, ensuring alignment with departmental needs, budget constraints and CUNY requirements.
+ Conduct solicitations (RFQ, RFI, RFP, ITB) in compliance with NYS Procurement Guidelines and CUNY Procurement Policy.
+ Review and process purchasing requisitions, verifying descriptions and specifications for accuracy and consulting with departments to address discrepancies.
+ Review and evaluate bids and quotes to determine the most reasonable price, considering market conditions, supplier responsiveness and bidder responsibility.
+ Prepare detailed specifications for pricing on items required by departments.
+ Negotiate and correspond with suppliers, departments, and stakeholders.
+ Coordinate procurement requests of high priority.
+ Prepare necessary purchasing documentation in accordance with CUNY requirements.
+ Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
+ Review and process all procurement-related activities accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Participate in CUNY training sessions as required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
+ Experience with PeopleSoft, Jagger ERP Systems, and procurement in government and/or higher education.
+ Knowledge of CUNY and NYS purchasing regulations, policies, and procedures.
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Coordinates matters related to procurement under management direction.
- Maintains accounts, budgets, contracts, agreements, and documentation related to the procurement process
- Analyzes procurement practices, procedures, and responsibilities, developing process documentation and identifying potential improvements
- Maintains College and University systems that manage and track procurement activities
- Assumes responsibility for selected procurement projects
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
$57,252 - $74,490; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
