Apply today to join our expanding client care team. Day shift works 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, and night shift works 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. Shifts include holidays that come up in the rotation. If you join our team, you'll enjoy the following responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to clients who have substance abuse and co-occurring needs; help facilitate our clients' improvement and recovery.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by each patient's condition and reprioritize care accordingly.
  • Administer medications as ordered by physician with proper documentation.
  • Perform TB tests and draw blood as needed.
  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for each patient and his/her family.
  • Document patient assessment findings, behavioral/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
  • Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to resuscitation protocols, if needed.
  • Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to dignity and rights.
  • Report patients' conditions to appropriate personnel during each shift and shift change.

You must have the following education, skills and experience to be considered:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
  • Proven experience as a nurse with excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and patient care.
  • Previous experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health is a plus.
  • Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with patients and their families, professional support staff and other team members.
  • Great computer skills including solid understanding of how to use an Electronic Medical Record system (EMR), email programs, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
  • High energy with engaging personality and compassionate care.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize workload.
