Automotive Technician
As an Automotive Technician in one of Wilks Tire and Battery retail locations you will contribute to our dedication to serve our customers, by utilizing a mechanical aptitude to diagnose technical issues while delivering outstanding service. You will also be familiar with brakes, alignments, and general repairs while continually learning new technologies in the rapidly changing automotive industry.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on customer vehicles, system diagnostics, and problem-solving,
- Including brake repairs, front end suspension, wheel alignments, shocks/struts, wheel bearings, preventative maintenance, and tire installation
- Creating a great customer experience, which includes providing clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles, documenting all work performed on the work order.
- Promote teamwork to deliver times and accurate guest care during all operating hours.
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including consumer tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
- Help keep shop clean and organized
- Maintaining a Professional Appearance
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of automotive experience including brake repairs, front end work, and preventative maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience diagnosing vehicles and performing road tests.
- Previous front end and/or brake experience
