The Warm Valley Health Care Dental Department is seeking to hire a staff dentist; all experience levels will be considered. ABOUT US:
We are a dental clinic composed of a dental supervisor/chief dentist, staff dentist(s), one hygienist, and four assistants spanning six large operatories, a dental lab area, private dentist's office, and sterilization space. Our clinic is located in Fort Washakie, Wyoming and the neighboring town of Lander, Wyoming is approximately 15 minutes away from the clinic. Lander is a popular living and vacation destination offering abundant living accommodations, grocery stories, boutique shopping, great restaurants and coffee shops, excellent schools, and national forest access five minutes from town. Riverton, Wyoming is approximately 30 minutes away from Lander and is a large town offering an abundance of housing, shopping ("big box stores"), numerous accommodations, and a regional airport with two direct flights to Denver International Airport daily. Lander is approximately 4.5hrs drive-time from Salt Lake City, Utah and 5.5hrs drive-time from Denver, Colorado. Regional airport access is plentiful with connecting flights to numerous international airports. The staff dentist position and location are a hidden gem and ideal for any outdoor enthusiast or someone looking to raise a family.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The staff dentist will provide limited and comprehensive dental care to include diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic services to patients served by Warm Valley Health Care clinics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide dental screenings, limited dental examinations, and comprehensive dental examinations.
- Perform restorative dentistry on decayed and fractured teeth.
- Perform routine restorative dentistry.
- Perform simple and surgical extractions and refer to oral surgery when necessary.
- Perform services in the fabrication and delivery of complete dentures and removable partial dentures.
- Perform endodontics within the scope of the practice.
- Perform routine limited pediatric care.
- Diagnose and treat oral diseases of the gums and teeth.
- Treat scheduled and emergency patients as needed.
- Provide advice, guidance, and recommendations for oral health, oral hygiene, and dietary considerations as it pertains to oral health.
- Manage dental disease in medically-compromised patients, consulting with physicians and specialists as necessary.
- Complete documentation in both medical and dental electronic health records.
- Keep abreast with evidence-based dentistry standards of care.
- Work with dental supervisor and all dental staff at Warm Valley Health Care.
- Assist in meeting the dental department's mission and vision within Warm Valley Health Care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a DMD or DDS degree to perform dentistry from a CODA (Commission on Dental Accreditation) accredited school of dentistry.
- Must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE or INBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Must have knowledge of dental disease.
- Must have current or be able to obtain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of anesthetics and pharmaceuticals as needed for dentistry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinically acceptable dental treatment plans.
- Skilled in fitting complete and partial removable prosthodontics.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of routine dental services.
- General knowledge of complex dental services.
- Knowledge of handling patients with behavior problems.
- Complete interview process and be selected for position.
- Background investigation and drug screening are required as a condition of employment.
