Job Description
**Material Handler** **Pay Rate:** $21.15/hour **Location:** Portland, OR **Schedule:** Friday-Monday | 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM | 4x10s **Job Overview** The Material Handler supports warehouse receiving and production operations by unloading incoming materials, accurately verifying and processing inventory, and delivering materials to production in a timely manner. This role is critical to ensuring materials are received, stored, and staged accurately while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment. **Key Responsibilities** + Safely unload incoming freight trucks containing raw ingredients, packaging, and related materials + Inspect and verify shipments against Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Purchase Orders (POs) + Communicate receiving details and discrepancies to the receiving clerk for accurate inventory updates + Check materials into inventory using warehouse systems and handheld scanners + Stock materials in assigned warehouse locations or deliver directly to production as needed + Operate stand-up forklifts safely after on-the-job training + Use additional material handling equipment to move, stage, and load materials throughout the facility + Stage materials to support production schedules and inventory availability + Maintain cleanliness of warehouse areas, including breaking down wrap, pallets, and waste materials + Sort and prepare recyclable materials according to facility procedures + Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards in all warehouse and production-adjacent activities + Work collaboratively with teammates and communicate clearly to support operations + Follow all safety protocols and remain alert to forklift and equipment traffic **Required Qualifications** + Experience in material handling within a warehouse or production environment + Forklift experience or willingness to learn stand-up forklift operation + Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment + Familiarity with warehouse receiving and inventory verification processes (BOMs and POs) + Experience with inventory handling, stocking, and order picking + Comfortable using handheld scanners or inventory tracking devices + Knowledge of GMP and basic quality control standards + Ability to work on concrete floors in an active warehouse environment + Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset **Preferred Qualifications** + Production support experience, including staging materials for manufacturing lines + Experience in inventory management and warehouse staging + Strong attention to detail when inspecting and verifying materials + Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace **Why Work Here?** This company offers a supportive, team-focused culture where employees are valued and recognized.
