Harborview Medical Center's (HMC) Pediatrics clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time FNP, Family Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-time, 40 hours per week

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Pediatric Clinic at Harborview offers a wide range of services including primary care, well-child visits and developmental screenings, breastfeeding support, confidential teen services, and mental health services. Same-day appointments are available for sick kids, and an after-hours nurse phone line is available when you need immediate care assistance. Many of our services are available via telehealth (video visits) to save you time and reduce the need to bring your child into the clinic.
The Pediatric Clinic at Harborview was named the first Center of Excellence in Foster Care in Washington. Our pediatric team provides trauma informed care and ensures timely access to care for children in foster and kinship care, in coordination with Apple Health Core Connections and Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver high-quality, compassionate, and family-centered care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults
Work collaboratively with attending physicians, residents, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams in the outpatient pediatric setting, including the Pediatric Clinic
Function independently and in collaboration with the care team to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide variety of pediatric conditions
Act as a clinician, consultant, educator, and advocate for patients and their families, while supporting the mission of Harborview to serve vulnerable populations and provide equitable care
Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical exams
Diagnose and manage common and complex pediatric medical conditions
Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging
Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions
Provide anticipatory guidance, education, and support to patients and families
Coordinate care with subspecialists, therapists, and community services
Document all care clearly, accurately, and in a timely fashion in EPIC
Collaboration and Communication
Educate patients, families, learners, and nursing staff as needed
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
REQUIREMENTS:
Family Nurse Practitioner:
Master's Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
AND National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
AND ACLS certification.
OR
Family Nurse Practitioner:
Master's Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
AND National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
AND ACLS certification.
OR
Physician Assistant:
Licensure as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA).
Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.
