Job Description

Job Title: Operations Specialist / Logistic and Customer Service

Location: Puebla, Puebla

Shift Time: 2:00pm to 11:00pm (In-Office)

Terms: Permanent Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Reports To: Sales Manager, Mexico

Job Purpose:

To provide freight forwarding coordination and support for clients.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Support company Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) by proactively contributing to initiatives that drive strategic goals and organizational success
  • Arranging transport of transborder FTL and LTL shipments within and between Canada, USA, and Mexico
  • Negotiating rates with carriers
  • Track and trace shipments to destination
  • Communicating shipment details with customers and agents
  • Arranging local pickups and deliveries
  • Calculating revenue and costs on shipment files
  • Provide quotes and information to customers
  • Book pickups and deliveries of shipments
  • Provide paperwork to customs brokers for customs clearances
  • Calculate revenue and costs on shipment files
  • Communicate shipment status with customers and agents by phone and email

Professional & Educational Background:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Transborder Operations in the 3PL industry
  • Knowledge of National LTL/FTL type systems (i.e. Forward Air, Polaris, XPO)
  • Intermodal handling considered an asset
  • Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • General knowledge of Canada, USA, Mexico Customs cross border practices & procedures
  • Working knowledge of Loadlink

Skills & Ability:

  • Communication: Has good listening skills and communicates effectively in both written and verbal formats including proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Organization: Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Multi-tasking: Must have strong multi-tasking abilities, be proactive and adaptable based on the needs of our clients. 
  • Problem-solving: Strong ability to think outside the box when dealing with complex requirements for clients
