**Job Description**
This role focuses on performing basic assembly and machine loading for printed circuit board technology, including the set-up and operation of automated solder machines in a manufacturing environment. You will work with through-hole pin connectors, follow detailed prints and documentation, and ensure all work meets established quality and inspection standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform basic assembly of printed circuit boards, including handling and installing through-hole pin connectors.
+ Load materials into automated solder machines and monitor equipment during operation to ensure consistent output.
+ Set up automated solder machines according to work instructions, ensuring proper parameters and configurations are in place.
+ Operate automated equipment using basic computer literacy skills, including entering settings and navigating system interfaces.
+ Read, recognize, and interpret customer and internal prints, work instructions (WI's), visual aids (VA's), and bills of materials to complete tasks accurately.
+ Apply enhanced IPC inspection practices to verify correct part placement, solder quality for reflow and through-hole processes, and overall printed circuit board and component integrity.
+ Inspect final assemblies for defects, including damage to printed circuit boards and components, and ensure proper handling of both leaded and lead-free printed circuit assemblies (PB and PB-Free PCA).
+ Handle printed circuit boards and assemblies carefully to maintain cleanliness and prevent damage during all stages of production.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area to support product quality and safety standards.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and team needs.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to perform basic assembly work, particularly with through-hole pin connectors.
+ Basic computer literacy skills to set up and operate automated manufacturing equipment.
+ Ability to read and interpret prints, work instructions (WI's), visual aids (VA's), and bills of materials.
+ Fundamental understanding of IPC inspection concepts related to part placement, solder inspection for reflow and through-hole processes, and final assembly checks.
+ Strong computer skills and knowledge to navigate systems and enter data accurately.
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Ability to stand for up to 10 hours straight during a shift.
+ Previous experience in manufacturing or production is preferred.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ General labor experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
+ Basic soldering experience, which is beneficial but not required for entry-level candidates.
+ Comfort working with electronic components and circuit board assemblies.
+ Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality standards consistently.
+ Reliability, strong work ethic, and interest in building a long-term career in manufacturing.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a clean, modern electronics manufacturing facility that produces motherboards for automotive electronic components and lighting fixtures as a Tier 1 supplier. You will work on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., operating automated solder and assembly equipment for printed circuit board production. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with a casual dress code that allows comfortable attire as long as it is not loose or offensive. The facility is centrally located with convenient access to public transportation, including bus lines near the shop, making commuting easier. The culture focuses on long-term employment, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a professional yet approachable setting.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $17.50/hr.
