Operations Manager
Summary
The Operations Manager ensures that Deep Roots Charter School functions as a safe, efficient, and well-resourced environment for student learning. This individual plays a critical role in building and maintaining the systems that support daily school operations-from arrival to dismissal, from data entry to delivery tracking-so that teachers and leaders can focus fully on student success. The Operations Manager supports logistics across key operational areas such as technology and systems management, transportation, food service, facilities, assessments, compliance, and vendor coordination.
The Operations Manager is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and service-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-aligned environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, solving problems, and contributing to a joyful and purposeful school culture. The Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities & Duties
Lead and Maintain Operational Systems
- Manage and monitor daily operations systems including building opening and closing, student arrival, dismissal, lunch, and transitions
- Coordinate logistics for services such as food, transportation, nursing, and facilities
- Oversee safety procedures, emergency drills, and compliance documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected logistical challenges as they arise
Team Management & Supervision
- Directly manage and provide day-to-day oversight to the Administrative Assistant, Food Service Manager, Building Engineer, and Custodial Team
- Set clear expectations, conduct regular check-ins, and support professional development for direct reports
- Ensure operational roles are carried out with a high standard of efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance
- Foster collaboration and a shared commitment to Deep Roots' values across the operations team
Manage Technology, Data, and Student Information Systems
- Maintain accuracy of student information systems (SIS), including attendance, rosters, and compliance data
- Ensure timely, accurate data reporting for internal and external use
- Provide training and support for staff on operational systems and procedures
- Troubleshoot and manage minor tech-related needs and collaborate with IT vendors
Oversee Inventory, Purchasing, and Vendor Relationships
- Maintain accurate inventory of school supplies, technology, and equipment
- Manage ordering, deliveries, and distribution of materials across school spaces
- Ensure all classrooms and offices are fully equipped for instruction and learning
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to align purchases with financial priorities
Support Assessment Logistics and Compliance
- Lead logistics for state and internal assessments (e.g., PSSA, MAP)
- Coordinate materials, staffing, training, and schedules for test administration
- Collaborate with instructional leadership to ensure assessment data integrity
Foster School Culture and Collaboration
- Partner with operations and instructional leadership to improve systems and support staff
- Model excellent customer service for families, students, and staff
- Maintain a welcoming, clean, and student-centered environment across school spaces
- Contribute to a culture of purpose, service, and continuous improvement
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or related certification preferred
- 2+ years experience in school operations or educational program management preferred
- Familiarity with student information systems (SIS), Microsoft Excel, and education-specific platforms
- Experience in logistics, inventory, data management, or compliance strongly preferred
- Spanish language skills and experience with Apple technology a plus
