Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Performs a variety of working level complex technical and para-professional duties as needed to coordinate, prepare, review, and compile specialized financial and/or clinical information to facilitate analysis, management review or to fulfill reporting requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Designs and compiles special reports and ad-hoc queries in response to internal and external individual and agency requests by evaluating a variety of business requirements and developing reports utilizing SQL and SQL Reporting Services; builds data queries, develops views and utilizes stored procedures. Acts as liaison with Administration and/or program personnel in the development, provision and use of data and business process to support agency needs; interacts with WMH behavioral health software partner assisting to process software requests and changes. Understands and gathers data according to established requirements and definitions; formulates and implements procedures to ensure data quality and integrity; updates various database tables. Monitors errors and handles user problems and questions in a Help Desk environment. Provides support for back-office processes; analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing processes.

Anticipates individual or agency needs in regard to data collection and provision; assists in identifying and developing data management information needs and business processes in support of the development of the agency's behavioral health information system. May instruct and update staff members in the use and function of computer programs and reports. Attends various quarterly, monthly, and weekly data management and program development meetings; participates in analytical discussion to impact enhancements and efficiencies in database maintenance and management. Maintains an understanding of current Medicaid practices, procedures, and regulations; communicates with Medicaid to solve technical issues, attends meetings related to the data functions of Medicaid.

Cross-train with other departments in order to gain the expertise needed to perform necessary data-related tasks.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

COMPENSATION: $31.48-$39.87 Hourly/$65,478-$82,929 Annually

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education and Experience:

A. Graduation from college with a bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, data science, data analytics, or related field;

AND

B. Three (3) years of responsible experience performing above and related duties; specific experience in database administration and technical maintenance is preferred;

2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of database management, system design concepts, detailed logical flow charts; computer language, coding and automatic data-processing equipment; computer capabilities; algebra and related mathematics essential to computer programming; information system management concepts; methods and standards for project control; operating system fundamentals; data communication concepts; documentation procedures; server programs (SQL, Unix), fourth generation programming languages; Microcomputers and Microsoft operating systems; spreadsheet functions(Excel); county databases; Help desk support methods, organization and procedures, automated operations, job scheduling, report distribution, etc.; interpersonal communication skills; interrelationships of various county departments; database management, system design concepts, information system management concepts; methods and standards for project control.

Ability to plan and develop logical applications of computer technology to address complex alpha and numeric problems; analyze a variety of problems and arrive at alternative solutions applicable to computerization, communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; develop effective working relationships with elected officials; technicians, vendors, supervisors, and co-workers.

 


Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
