Position Summary
Driver Supervision
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the driver team.
- Ensure all drivers comply with company policies, safety standards, and local transportation regulations.
- Coordinate daily assignments, shifts, and schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient service.
- Ensure all drivers are equipped with the proper resources/equipment to perform job duties
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to drivers.
- Monitor daily driver behavior and address performance or disciplinary issues.
- Facilitate regular driver meetings to address updates, concerns, and feedback.
- Ensure drivers are prepared to handle unexpected delays, emergencies, or changes in routes.
- Monitor vehicle assignments to ensure proper utilization and maintenance scheduling.
- Partner with the Road Specialist to provide on-the-ground support and solutions during emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or route disruptions.
Training and Development
- Oversee onboarding and training programs for new drivers.
- Conduct ongoing training sessions on safety protocols, customer service, and operational updates.
- Collaborate with Safety Trainer to ensure drivers are up-to-date on certifications and safety practices.
Communication:
- Partner with the Scheduling Lead and Dispatch Lead to ensure efficient route planning, driver availability, and operational coverage
- Provide input for safety audits and participate in initiatives to enhance driver safety performance.
- Work closely with Dispatchers and Schedulers to address operational challenges and meet service demands.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Maintenance and Safety, to ensure seamless operations
- Address driver shortages or scheduling conflicts and propose solutions.
Compliance and Reporting
- Keep records of all driver accidents, incidents, complaints, and compliments. Report documentation in a timely and accurate manner to compliance specialist
- Review and approve incident reports and trip documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Maintenance and Safety, to ensure seamless operations
- Ensure drivers follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws and nonprofit-specific regulations.
- Maintain records of driver certifications, vehicle inspections, and incident reports.
- Provide regular reports on driver performance, safety metrics, and operational efficiency to the Operations Manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, a bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation operations or driver supervision
Certifications: Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one is preferred.
Other: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed

Will be responsible for creation of all Job Descriptions, annual PDCA planning and employee evaluations for Direct Reports
