SALES SUPERVISOR - JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sales Supervisor plays a key role in assisting with the day-to-day operations of the retail dispensary while providing support to the management team. During each shift, the Sales Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and monitoring sales floor staff, performing administrative cash handling, upholding company policies, and ensuring the customer experience meets company standards. Supervisors are also responsible for training new hires and reporting trainee progress to leadership. This is a highly task-driven role that requires excellent organization, strong attention to detail, and a sense of urgency. The Sales Supervisor must be flexible, frequently shifting between assisting employees with operational tasks (applying discounts, handling change, helping cover breaks) and stepping directly into roles as needed to maintain the flow and productivity of the sales floor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train new employees on the company's customer service standards, policies, and best practices.

  • Create daily lunch and break schedules and ensure they are followed.

  • Delegate responsibilities to front-of-house staff and provide continuous support throughout the shift.

  • Manage the flow of the store during their shift and step into any position as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist with the proper and thorough training of all employees to uphold dispensary standards and ensure operational consistency.

  • Monitor and enforce company transaction standards and operational procedures, including MVP steps, Scan-Tag-Bag protocols, cash handling procedures, and compliance with discount and ID verification processes.

  • Ensure all employees strictly adhere to Cookies (Nirvana Cannabis) policies and procedures.

  • Take initiative to observe and correct compliance issues to ensure adherence to all applicable state cannabis regulations.

  • Provide clear, consistent communication with team members, Lead Supervisors, Store Manager, Inventory Supervisors, and corporate staff.

  • Ensure every customer receives excellent service and care while visiting the facility.

  • Assist with transactions and POS operations as needed, including applying discounts, processing returns and voids, retrieving change, and closing registers.

  • Exhibit strong leadership by setting a positive example in customer service, compliance, and teamwork.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall store performance and operational excellence.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate a team.

  • Exceptional customer service abilities and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to understand, track, and maintain budgets.

  • Thorough understanding of company policies, practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • At least one year of retail experience highly preferred.

  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a retail or cannabis environment is a strong plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility.

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

  • Must be comfortable operating in a dynamic retail environment with high customer interaction.
