Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Vice President of Finance to lead and optimize financial operations for our organization in Oakland, California. This role will require strategic oversight of financial planning, budgeting, and compliance to support the organization's overall goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial systems, accounting processes, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and execution of financial strategies to align with organizational objectives.
- Manage financial reporting, including preparing accurate and timely statements and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead the budgeting process, including forecasting, monitoring, and analyzing financial performance to recommend improvements.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the use of financial software systems such as Concur and ADP.
- Direct annual audits and implement improvements based on findings to enhance financial integrity.
- Guide the organization in the preparation and execution of the annual budget process.
- Evaluate and improve internal financial controls and processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and projections.
- Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Requirements - Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, such as VP or Director of Finance.
- Expertise in financial systems and tools, including Concur, ADP, and CRM platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including accounts payable, auditing, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated success in managing annual budgets and financial forecasting processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software systems and their implementation within organizational workflows.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage teams and collaborate across departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA certification is preferred.
