Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Loan Officer(s) in complying with the documentation requirements of the loan generation and approval process. Provide support to the Loan Officer(s) in servicing, maintaining and growing the loan portfolio for the market. Perform processing duties when necessary. Open deposit accounts in the absence of Customer Service Representative.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Licenses/Certifications: None.
Experience: Two years related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience. Knowledge of loan programs and the loan approval/denial process is preferred.
Essential Functions:
A: Job Specific:
- Assist in collecting financial statements. Prepare and send correspondence to customers requesting annual financial statements and/or tax returns for all aggregate relationships, record receipt of financial information, and forward documents to imaging for electronic filing and provide status reports on outstanding financials to appropriate Loan Officers and executive management.
- Perform pre-closing review on all consumer and commercial loan applications. Review file contents to ensure documents are present and complete. Immediately report atypical findings to management in order to stop the loan closing process when the situation warrants such action.
- Review and comprehend agriculture client financial statement and tax return information. Input information contained on financial statements/tax returns into appropriate data base.
- Maintain all agriculture/farm loan files. File documents received and purge documents according to the document retention schedule.
- Assist in obtaining FSA/USDA guarantees on applicable farm loans. Process all necessary USDA farm guarantee paperwork and submit for sale to the appropriate purchaser (Farmer Mac) within the designated timeframe.
- Utilize software system(s) to retrieve loan documents at the request of collection representatives.
- Perform loan processing duties as required.
- Assist in the scanning and/or indexing of all loan and deposit documents.
- Act as a customer contact in the absence of the Lender(s). Prepare correspondence, answer telephone and provide customer support. Schedule appointments on behalf of the Lender(s). Process draws, collect payments and resolve customer issues.
- Teller responsibilities to include but not be limited to: deposits, withdrawals and payments. Reconcile night deposits. Complete and process holds/CTR's. Maintain assigned cash levels. Customer service.
- Assist Loan Officers in the collection of documents necessary for compiling all types of loan packages (i.e., financial statements, credit reports, title searches).
- Copy required financial documentation (tax returns, financial statements) as needed to complete loan file.
- If needed, prepare documents, mortgages and agreements for loan closings.
- Close loans and prepare correspondence in the Loan Officer's absence.
- Import information and export loans to mainframe. Utilize software applications to prepare loan documentation.
- Review completed loan packages for potential exceptions. Monitor monthly exception report and initiate action to collect any missing loan documentation.
- Recommend methods to clear exceptions to the Loan Officer(s). Assist Loan Officer(s) with reconciling monthly and quarterly reports.
- If needed, perfect liens on all secured transactions (i.e., mortgages, assignments, security agreements, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and/or initiate UCC search, obtain flood certifications, pull credit reports, etc. at the direction of the Loan Officer.
- Obtain insurance information.
- Send out denial letters and complete credit denial forms.
