We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sharepoint Migration Specialist to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

If selected you will:

  • This position requires someone who is both a seasoned project manager and an upgrade and migration expert of SharePoint onprem to SharePoint online
  • Help lead the migration project from SharePoint on-premise (SP 2016) to SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 working closely with the primary SharePoint Developer/Administrator and SharePoint tester.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy, including project planning, testing, communication strategy, and deployment phases.
  • Help assess current SharePoint environment, identify migration requirements, and create migration plans and timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with customer teams, stakeholders, and end-users to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Help configure SharePoint Online and M365 settings, ensuring optimal performance and integration with other systems.
  • Implement best practices for SharePoint Online governance, security, and compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the primary SharePoint developer/administrator and end-users throughout the migration process.
  • Monitor migration progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct post-migration reviews and evaluations to refine processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide regular, frequent, and as-needed communications to the end users and stakeholders.
  • This position is expected to start immediately and end in August, 2026.

  • Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online administration, including configuration, customization, and integration.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 applications and their integration with SharePoint Online
  • Proven experience as a SharePoint Administrator or Lead, with a focus on migration projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, infrastructure, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten+ years experience Sharepoint specialist supporting, implementing, and migrating Sharepoint
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online administration, including configuration, customization, and integration.
