JOB PURPOSE

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing and managing engaging, creative, and consistent social media content that aligns with the organization's brand standards and mission. The position supports audience growth, community engagement, and campaign execution across multiple platforms, contributing to broader organizational awareness and donor engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation & Scheduling

  • Develop and publish content (graphics, video, and copy) for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter (X).
  • Design branded visual assets in Canva and Adobe Illustrator that reflect the organization's color palette, fonts, and visual identity.
  • Create multimedia content (photos, reels, motion graphics) optimized for each platform.
  • Coordinate and maintain a social media calendar in alignment with internal campaigns and events.

Engagement & Community Management

  • Monitor daily activity across all platforms.
  • Respond to comments, direct messages, and inquiries in a timely, friendly, and brand-aligned voice.
  • Amplify engagement by participating in relevant online conversations and tagging partner organizations.

Branding & Visual Consistency

  • Uphold brand identity across all social media assets, ensuring consistent use of fonts, colors, logos, and tone.
  • Follow and enforce The Just One Project's internal style guide for digital communications.
  • Ensure accessibility standards are considered in digital media (e.g., captions, alt-text, contrast).

Analysis & Strategy

  • Track and report key performance metrics monthly (reach, engagement, followers, link clicks).
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to assess campaign effectiveness and refine strategies.
  • Research social trends, platform updates, and competitor activity to inform content direction.

Administrative & Technical Support

  • Maintain backend settings for all social media platforms (e.g., scheduling tools, profile updates).
  • Support digital asset management (filing photos, video content, branding kits).
  • Any other job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrate values consistent with the stated mission and culture of The Just One Project
  • 1+ year of Non- Profit Experience (preferred)
  • 1-3 years of professional experience managing social media for a business, nonprofit, or brand (Required)
  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and basic video editing tools such as CapCut or Adobe Premiere Rush (Required)
  • Strong understanding of branding, digital storytelling, and audience engagement strategies
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices for digital platforms (Preferred)
  • Must possess valid unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Organizational Skills: Manages a content calendar, meets multiple deadlines, and adjusts priorities as needed.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies gaps in engagement or performance and proactively implements data-informed improvements.
  • Team Collaboration: Works well with cross-functional teams and integrates feedback in a professional manner.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Must attend six mandatory 'Pop Up & Give' events per year
  • Must possess valid unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid Food Handlers Card

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This is a part-time position requiring approximately 15 hours per week.
  • Hours must be scheduled between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Flexible scheduling within that time frame is permitted, with prior coordination with the Marketing Manager.
