We are looking for a detail-oriented AML Investigator to join our compliance team on a contract basis in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding financial integrity by identifying and investigating potential risks related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing activities. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with a background in legal, business, or financial compliance to gain hands-on experience in the financial services industry.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive investigations of alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems to detect suspicious activities.
- Analyze customer transactional behaviors to identify inconsistencies or deviations from expected norms.
- Perform due diligence reviews on flagged transactions to determine their legitimacy and compliance.
- Prepare well-documented findings and reports for review by senior compliance staff or regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information necessary for customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence processes.
- Stay updated on anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and apply them effectively in daily operations.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory standards and best practices.
- Provide support for audits and regulatory inspections as needed.
- Maintain organized records of investigations and compliance activities for future references
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in legal, business, or compliance-related disciplines.
- Strong proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with compliance tools and systems.
- Knowledge or experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes and regulations.
- Ability to analyze complex data and identify patterns or anomalies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Willingness to work on-site during standard business hours.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
