Job Description
**ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST - HFIC - CORPORATE OFFICE (AUSTIN, MN)** **To save time applying, Hormel Foods does not offer sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas for this position at this time.** Relocation is not eligible for this role. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** As a part of the Financial Accounting and Reporting team, you will play a critical role in protecting Hormel's reputation and history of success by ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of financial reporting both internally and externally. This role within the Business Unit accounting team assists with the controllership responsibility over the international segment. + Performs period close accounting duties, such as entering journal vouchers for accruals and allocations. Utilizes strong organizational skills and attention to detail to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner which is accurate, complete, and of high quality. + Ensures the accuracy of entries through balance sheet reconciliations. + Works with the Hormel International marketing team to administer annual marketing accruals and tracks throughout the year. + Accumulates financial data for management reports, foreign tax reimbursement, domestic tax audits, and expatriate tax preparation. + Prepare wire payments for vendor invoices related to Hormel Foods International. Works with cash management and procurement teams to ensure the vendor set up process is completed. + Manages payment process and accruals for international brokers. + Reconcile bank accounts and settle intercompany wires. + Reconciles intercompany accounts crossing multiple currencies. + Serves as a key resource to the team by assisting with other accounting-related tasks as business needs require. Demonstrates flexibility to manage tasks for multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Required + Strong Microsoft Excel skills. + Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. + Strong organizational skills. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to adapt as business needs change. Preferred + Associate degree in Accounting and/or 3+ years' experience in an accounting role. + Experience in Oracle Cloud ERP and Smartview. _Hormel Foods Corporation is an equal opportunity employer. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $19.75 - $27.75 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
