Job Description

Under minimal supervision, operate CNC (computer numerical controlled) laser cutting machine, horizontal bender and press brake machinery to manufacture, bend or cut metallic or non-metallic products.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, however, other duties may apply.)

  • Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
  • Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optional performance of the equipment.
  • Knowledge about shield gases used during the laser cutting operation.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Properly and safely loads and unloads materials or parts.
  • Operate loading and unloading equipment (fork truck, pallet jack, hand, etc.) in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Use precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
  • Report major delays in manufacturing or quality issues to Manufacturing Manager.
  • Performs daily, regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on laser machinery.
  • Troubleshoot minor program errors independently, work under limited oversight.
  • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements, safety procedures and manufacturing processes.
  • Keep areas clean, organized and free of trash and clutter.
  • Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures with assistance.
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
  • Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
  • Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.
  • Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.
  • Provides constant feedback and input into improvement within the department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
  • Three year of experience and /or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A positive test result for controlled substances will render an applicant disqualified for employment.
